The Serbian champions have now confirmed that talks are on-going with City over the Montenegro international, and it is believed a deal could be done before the weekend.
City boss Roberto Mancini revealed to the Italian media over the weekend that a deal for Savic was 'done'.
And although not yet complete, it appears City are set to finalise the capture of the 20-year-old central defender.
"Talks with Manchester City are on-going," stated Partizan's general secretary Darko Grubor told Beta.
"It is true that they want him, but we will see when it is done.
"Everything is just a matter of agreement, but as I said it is not done yet."
City are yet to sign anyone this summer, but they could very well announce two new signings this week in the shape of Savic and Gael Clichy.
