City have announced they will play the Vietnamese national side in capital Hanoi on July 27 and spend three days in the country.
The match will come after City's trip to Australia, where they will hold a training camp and play games against sister club Melbourne City, Roma and Real Madrid.
City have worked in partnership with the Vietnam Football Federation and the Saigon-Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank in arranging the additional fixture.
City chief executive Ferran Soriano said: "We are very excited about the prospect of visiting Vietnam as part of our pre-season preparations.
"We look forward to competing against the Vietnamese national team in a fixture that will provide a valuable challenge to our squad ahead of the new campaign.
"This will be the club's first-ever visit to Vietnam and we are delighted to be playing in front of so many passionate football supporters and so many Manchester City fans."
