Castrol Game Changer Award winner - Ilkay Gundogan

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has won the Castrol Game Changer Award for his performance in the thrilling 3-2 win over Aston Villa on the final day of the Premier League season.

The German had a watching brief for the first 68 minutes of the game before Pep Guardiola called him up from the substitutes bench with City 2-0 down, and he helped turned things around in five sensational minutes at the Etihad Stadium.

First, Gundogan rose high at the back post to nod Raheem Sterling's cross past Robin Olsen in Villa's goal before Rodri levelled the scores with a precise finish from outside the box.

Gundogan would then prove to be the ultimate Game Changer for City as he brilliantly anticipated Kevin De Bruyne's cross-shot to nip in at the back post ahead of Matt Cash and steer the ball home for 3-2.

The 31-year-old's brace proved to be the difference for as City wrapped up a fourth Premier League title in five years - victory in the end crucial after title rivals Liverpool scored two late goals at Anfield to beat Wolves.

Manchester United duo Paul Pogba and Cristiano Ronaldo were also nominated for the Castrol Game Changer award - which was decided by public vote - as were Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, Tottenham winger Steven Bergwijn and Gundogan's City teammate Kevin De Bruyne - for his four-goal showing in the 5-1 demolition of Wolves at the start of May.
