Valeri Bojinov has declared his desire to stay at Manchester City but is looking to Mark Hughes to play him regularly.
The Bulgarian, signed by former manager Sven Goran Eriksson in 2007 has endured an injury ravaged two years but recovered from his latest setback to score in City's final away game of last season in the 2-1 defeat at Spurs.
"I enjoy being here and very happy with City. I would like to stay and if I can I will," says the striker, who figured for the Bulgarian national side against Richard Dunne at the weekend. Bojinov has been linked with a return to Serie A but wants to repay the blues for their unwavering support following his recovery from the ruptured achilles injury during the warm up against Aston Villa on the opening day of last season
"That was a big injury but I'm better now," explains the striker. "You want to play more games but that depends on the boss." Bojinov also admitted he needs to stay clear of injury if he is to get regular action and is eager to put the misery of last season behind him.
If he does manage to keep injury free, Bojinov be the solution to City's striking problems and save them a few quid in the process.
