The Isreali international midfielder, who has made just one appearance for City this year, has stepped up his rehabilitation after surgery on the groin complaint.
"After the match at Fulham, I couldn't walk for three days but I still continued to play," he told City's official website. "In the end I just had to say enough. I still don't understand how I got through the match at Old Trafford but now I feel much better, even if I'm still getting a niggling pain in my groin. "It's been very frustrating for me. I haven't done anything for three to four weeks and then I started to train again.
"I'm still not 100% but maybe it's the reaction of the training."
