Anelka gets France call-up

The City striker was left out of the initial party for the friendly, but Lyon frontman Govou had to pull out of the squad with a left knee injury suffered on club duty against Bordeaux on Saturday night.

Anelka had not been named in any of coach Santini's squads despite some superb performances for City in the Premiership this season.

He won his 27th and last cap in the 0-0 draw with Russia in a pre-World Cup finals friendly on April 17th.
