City striker Emmanuel Adebayor should be banned for at least 200 games and fined £25m for his elaborate goal celebrations during City’s 4-2 win over Arsenal. The club should also be fined £500 billion and docked 1,000 points for failing to allow their supporters to get out of control during the same game.
Adebayor’s celebrations were so severe that the FA have broken the charges down
and are as follows:
- Adebayor scored against Arsenal – A crime worthy of a 50 game ban.
- Adebayor runs the length of the pitch – No professional footballer should do this – 50 game ban
- Adebayor slides on his knees with his arms outstretched – 50 game ban (it would have been just 25 but Ade was also smiling)
- Inciting Arsenal fans to almost riot by doing all the above – 50 ban
Furthermore the club face the prospect of a £500 billion fine and 1,000 point deduction because the blues supporters didn’t react when Arsenal striker Robin van Persie scored and hurled abuse towards the supporters. Sadly, the club never provided clogs and tulips to throw at the Dutchman.
Once found guilty, Ade’s ban will come into immediate effect, meaning he will be out of contract by the time he is eligible to play again while the club itself will still be looking for new owners following the bankruptcy of the Abu Dhabi United Group.
You think this is a joke, just wait until the FA find the striker guilty of the charge without punishing van Persie, or United comedy duo Ferguson and Neville, who both aimed celebrations in the direction of City supporters with Neville running half the length of the pitch in celebration (25 game ban).
Then we will see the true definition of the word farce.
