History of City at Middlesbrough

City face a trip to the Riverside Stadium on Saturday hoping to turn around their fortunes in Middlesbrough. City have won only nine of their 58 away games against Boro, with the home side winning 36.

City's last trip to face Boro was last December, when the home side edged a five-goal thriller that was shown live on Sky. Bradley Wright-Phillips gave City hope of a draw by scoring in the 80th minute, just four minutes after coming on for his Premiership debut.

Recent form

Middlesbrough are not in the best of form at home having lost their last 2 - both against Blackburn (the first in the League Cup to a Paul Dickov goal). They haven't won in their last 5 league games - their last league win was at home to Fulham on Nov 20 (3-2) - although they have won 2 Cup games.

After losing to Wigan and Chelsea since Christmas, City have now lost 3 of their last 4 games, and going further back, have won 3 of their last 10.

Boro find themselves struggling in 15th position having picked up 20 points from 18 matches. City have played a game more and have 27 points, but their recent form means their hopes of European qualification are fading as they now lie 8th.

FootyMad's prediction ...

Both sides have great attacking options but their defensive frailities have led to inconsistent results. In short, anything can happen, but I'll go for a .... Score draw.
