Comment: Shaun set for another snub then?

Despite his outstanding goal on his only appearance for England against Ukraine.....

Despite David Beckham being injured and suspended......

And despite a poll on Sky Sports News today showing that 78% thought Shaun should start.

Shaun's wait for his first England start looks set to continue.

Owen Hargreaves was first tipped to replace Beckham after coming on for him at Old Trafford, and now Jermaine Jenas appears the favourite to start after appearing in a training match along with the rest of Saturday's starting line-up.

I find it hard to believe that, even now, Sven will not reward Shaun with his first start.

Personally, I believe that Shaun should start on the right for England anyway -with Beckham in the middle - as Shaun's a better right-midfielder than Beckham and Beckham is better suited to centre-midfield.

But with Beckham out surely he'd be straight in? No. Hargreaves and Jenas are ahead in the pecking order, even though neither play on the right.

The pair have around 30 caps between them, but Shaun has made more of an impact for England in one half.

Just keep at it Shaun, and maybe Sven will come to his senses.
